This is the one-time setup that an administrator completes in Microsoft Copilot Studio. Once it's done, your team can access Ometria data through Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Before you start
You'll need:
- An Ometria account with admin access. The OAuth flow inside Copilot uses these credentials to authenticate the agent
- A Microsoft 365 licence with access to Microsoft Copilot Studio
- A zip file from your Ometria CSM, containing:

[ClientName].md(your client context file, named after your organisation)

Step 1: Set up the agent
- Go to https://copilotstudio.microsoft.com.
- In the top right, switch to the environment where you want to install the agent.
- Select Agents > Create blank agent.
- Name the agent Ometria Deep Insights Agent. Leave Language, Solution, and Schema name as default.
- Open the Team dropdown and share the agent with the teams that need access, then select Create.
- Select Edit on the Details section.
- Select Change icon and add the Ometria logo (
Ometria_brand_mark_square.png) from your zip file.
- Open
Description.mdfrom your zip and copy-paste the content into the Description field. - In the Select your agent's model section, choose any Claude model.
- Select Edit in the Instructions section and add the content from
instructions.mdin your zip file.
- In the Knowledge section, select Add knowledge and attach the
[ClientName].mdfile from your zip (named after your organisation).
- In the Suggested prompts section, select Add suggested prompts and add the four prompts from
Description.md.
Step 2: Connect the Ometria MCP server
- Select Tools > Add a tool.
- Select Model Context Protocol.
- Enter the following details, then select Create:

- A new screen will show the agent as Not connected. Select the Not connected text, then Create new connection > Create.
- The Ometria authentication flow will open. Use your business's preferred sign-in method, for example email and password or SSO.
- Select Allow All Scopes.
- Select Add and configure.
The connection should now show as Active.
Step 3: Test the agent
- Go to the Test your agent section and type any word, for example testing.
- If the agent hasn't been connected yet, you'll see a message asking you to Open connection manager to verify your credentials.
- Select the Connect link. It will take you to the connection manager.
- A new window will open with all your available connections. Select the Ometria Deep Insights Agent connection, then select Submit.
- The connection should now show as Connected.
- Go back to the agent and test it by typing something like What was last month's revenue? The agent should return an answer.
Step 4: Add channels and share with your team
- Expand the agent navigation bar at the top and select Channels.
- Select Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams, keep Make agent available in Microsoft 365 Copilot ticked, then select Add channel.
- Copilot will prompt you to publish. Select Force newest version, then Publish.
- Go back to the Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams card and select Edit details. Fill in the fields below, then select Save:

- On the Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams card, select Availability options.
- Select Show to my teammates and shared users and pick the people or teams you want to make the agent visible to.
- Select Copy link. You'll share this with your team in Step 5. You can return to this screen to copy it again any time.
Step 5: Final checks
To check everything is working as expected:
- Go to Channels and select Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams.
- Select See agent in Microsoft 365 and enter a test prompt, for example What was last month's revenue?
- Select See agent in Teams and enter the same prompt.
- If the agent returns a revenue answer, it's working as expected.
- Share the copied link with your team. They're now ready to start using the agent. See Using Deep Insights Agent in Teams and Microsoft 365 for the end-user steps.
